SZR:GTA was a roleplay community for the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
The community operated a SA-MP server on a modified Godfather gamemode script. The community forum ran on PHPBB and had been around since ~2007.
I played between 2010 and 2013, and made a lot of friends there.
Around 2013 I offered to assist Rachael (who was primarily operating the service at the time) in doing some website changes. I made some updates, included the server status and player count and such on the home page. Overall not doing any significant changes until the service was abandoned.
Before the web hosting account stopped being funded, I took a copy of the database for safe keeping. In 2019, I was pinged by Ron asking about it. I decided to put a copy of the community forum online untouched, giving folks with a nostalgic itch a place to scratch it.
I've continued to host the web forum since then only making changes for security and bug fixes on occasion.
